DAY HIKES FROM KALIMPONG

OPTION 1

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Durpin Hill.

Durpin Dara - This is an observatory point about 3 kms from town from where awe inspiring view of the mighty Himalayan ranges can be seen. The lush green valleys intersected by the ice cold mountain ranges of Kanchendzonga rivers such as the Teesta, Relli, Riang on one side and the sight of the plains on the other provide a breath taking view.

From here begin walk to Chebu Basti seeing Teesta River flowing down the Valley on one side and Darjeeling on the other side.

Chebu Village is surrounded by Cardamom Plantations, Seasonal Vegetable Cultivation, Rice fields and Flower Nurseries

Packed Picnic lunch at the village and later walk back to the hotel

OPTION 2

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Green fall

Green fall - Morning drive to Kalijhora 37 kms 2 hours approx. Kali = Black and Jhora = Small river so the name came KALIJHORA. If you follow the river towards upstream you can find out a coal mine. NHPC started a hydro project hare and a very old PWD Bungalow is located hare. This was a very good spot for the film shooting. From hare start hiking through the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. Across the mountain around 1.5 hrs walk you can find out a beautiful water fall and a lagoon. The name of water fall is GREEN FALL.

Return back on the same route.

OPTION 3

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Doon Nature Camp Reli Khola.

Doon Nature Camp Reli Khola - Morning drive to 14 mile and from hare Doon Nature Camp Reli Khola is near about 5-7 kms downhill. Car can go little bit down after that its walking road. The village is located in eastern side of Kalimpong. The Reli Khola is originated from the Neora Valley forest and go to Teesta River near 27 mile NHPC dam project. A hanging bridge is situated across the Reli Khola, on other side you can find out a small lagoon, a single family with few cultivated land and 6 water falls. Can find out beside the river a bamboo made wall furnished cottage along with the basic facilities. A typical Nepali house is also there; they can serve you some local food and can be arrange a traditional archery practice season.
